12M cord-cutters annually shopping for OTA antenna solutions
The Problem

Cord-cutters shopping for OTA TV antennas face a confusing array of products with no reliable way to match a specific antenna to their location. Signal strength varies by address, building type, and channel frequency (UHF vs. VHF), making generic reviews useless. Users are forced to post their RabbitEars signal reports to Reddit communities and wait hours or days for manual advice from hobbyists.

Potential Solution

A web app that ingests a user's address (or RabbitEars report URL), parses their tower distances, signal azimuths, and frequency bands, then cross-references a curated database of antenna specs (gain, frequency range, directionality, form factor) to produce a ranked, purchasable shortlist with confidence scores. The tool would also flag installation constraints — attic vs. indoor vs. roof mounting — and amplifier needs based on cable run length and splitter configurations.

Why Now?

Streaming price hikes have accelerated cord-cutting, sending millions of new, non-technical users toward OTA antennas for the first time with no guidance beyond crowdsourced Reddit threads. The FCC's ATSC 3.0 (NextGen TV) rollout is simultaneously creating new antenna compatibility questions that existing communities are not equipped to answer at scale.

Review of Starlink Good App; Amazing Service Starlink is perfect for those of us who live in the middle of nowhere and otherwise would have no way to communicate with the rest of the world! The app is very helpful: download it before you order your Starlink, so you can see whether/where you have enough open sky to even use Starlink; once you have a subscription, you set up your Starlink with the app, and then you can see the ping rate, latency, power draw, how many devices are connected, wheth

Has all the network information I've ever needed for signal strength analysis. This has allowed me to fix signal problems in multiple homes and get the most out of my services. Very straightforward presentation of data, making this extremely functional as a network analyzer without having to buy a specialized tool. I am glad I purchased it years ago and that it is still being maintained.

Even the free side of the app is solid information. the paid side is pretty inexpensive and full of options and information. Great for troubleshooting wireless issues, broadcast, and radio problems or just plain checking to make sure everything is running properly. The app also has a suggestions page with lots of helpful intelligent information. It's by far the best android network information and troubleshooting app I've used.
