A configurable voice layer that lets mobile workers dictate to their preferred AI assistant and listen to the written response while driving, walking, or working away from a screen.
Added Sep 3, 2026
Solo professionals use AI conversations to manage projects, schedules, research, and decisions, but they cannot reliably continue that work when their hands or attention are occupied. Read-aloud and voice controls are frequently hidden, removed, inconsistent across devices, or bundled into voice modes that do not preserve the desired dictate-to-text-to-audio workflow. Switching assistants does not solve the problem because similar complaints appear across multiple products.
Build a mobile and desktop companion that accepts dictated or shared prompts, sends them to a selected AI assistant, preserves the written exchange, and provides persistent one-tap playback controls. Users can choose which actions remain visible, set preferred voices and playback behavior, and organize conversations by client or project. The initial version can operate through supported APIs? and mobile share extensions instead of attempting to modify the assistants' interfaces.
AI assistants are becoming everyday work tools, while frequent interface changes are disrupting established accessibility and mobile-productivity habits. Multiple competing assistants now provide APIs?, making an independent interaction layer more feasible.

Review of Microsoft Copilot Terrible new app Xperience How is possible the new app disnt update the old one , but voice works in the old one and the new one is forcing me to use copilot 365 with a paid tier , I am a embarrassed of being a MS evangelist and seen this direction !
Review of ChatGPT Cck ccmd m sdmtxuurdfjfu Very good I’ve learned a lot, but can you please add the speaker button at the bottom of each of ChatGPT’s reply back?
Review of ChatGPT Read Aloud Button I generally love ChatGPT, but please make the read aloud button more accessible again instead of hiding it behind the ellipsis. As someone with ADHD, I can understand information better when I can read and hear it at the same time.
Review of ChatGPT Changes causing workflow inefficiency I’ve been using ChatGPT for about a year and have found it increasingly valuable as both a productivity tool and an organizational tool in my daily life and work. I’m a freelancer and sole proprietor with multiple work and income streams. I work remotely, don’t have employees, and have a limited small-business budget. I chose to make room in that budget for a paid ChatGPT subscription because it helps me do work that previously took me much longer: tracking work and schedules, organizing information, maintaining ongoing projects, analyzing problems, and managing the many moving pieces that one person has to manage when she is the entire business. The economy and efficiency of this tool are therefore a large part of its value to me. When a productivity tool turns what was a one-tap action into something I have to hunt for or reach through multiple taps, it becomes less efficient—and efficiency is the point. A particularly frustrating example is Read Aloud. It is one of the most valuable options within ChatGPT for the way I work. I frequently dictate information into an ordinary conversation, receive ChatGPT’s written analysis, and then use Read Aloud when I’m walking, driving, working remotely, or otherwise unable to keep my attention on the screen. Until very recently, Read Aloud was immediately available beneath each response. It suddenly moved into the three-dot overflow menu while other controls I rarely use remain visible. Please don’t confuse that workflow with wanting to use a dedicated Voice mode. Dictation → written response → Read Aloud is a distinct and extremely useful workflow. I want to decide when I dictate, when I read, and when I listen. I’m seeing similar friction elsewhere in the mobile interface. I use Projects and ongoing conversations as working dashboards. I want to open the appropriate Project or conversation, immediately reach the dialogue box, dictate or type my entry, and continue working. Increasingly I’m encountering model labels such as “5.6 Sol Light,” Work options, tool choices, and additional interface elements when what I need is the simple, actionable dialogue box for the Project I’m already using. Instead of becoming more seamless, the workflow requires more hunting and tapping. Please either restore the efficient controls that were there before or give users settings to customize them. Let me choose which actions remain immediately visible beneath responses. Let me keep Read Aloud first or second and put something I rarely use, such as Share, in the overflow menu. And when I’m working inside a Project, prioritize the active Project, conversation and dialogue box rather than making me navigate around tools and modes I didn’t ask for. I am not opposed to new features or improvements. I’m asking that improvements not override an efficient workflow I’ve already developed without giving me a way to preserve it. ChatGPT has earned a place in my limited business budget because it has saved me time and helped one person accomplish work that otherwise takes considerably longer. As a paying customer, that is the value proposition. If interface changes make the product less efficient and more cumbersome to use, they also make it less valuable to me. Please continue developing the product, but preserve the ability for individual users to make the interface work efficiently for the way they actually use it.
