"This is complicated. If you buy an investment property have full control over it and manage it owning it. You can then have your children in future "rent" from you if they move out. Subsidised rent if you like and arrange a fair agreement. You can then look at how to use this property to help them with their own purchases. We lived in my partners parents investment property when we were 26 so about 8 years ago they helped us by not charging market rate and we paid half of market rate still contributing but not as much. This allowed us to have independent living and also save for our own property. They also helped go guarantor for us when we bought. Too many assumptions in plans but one child may be interested in purchasing property so you can do this a number of ways bit gets complex if they are partnered / married. Protect yourself and your assets in the process as it would be a shame to lose it in a potential seperation."
